-zEr0- 2 Posted February 12, 2014 I was at the Military base near Vybor and I had the Chance to take out two guys at once very easily. My character was in prone behind a bush and I definitely knew that there were some other guys around so I waited there. Then I saw them coming. They checked the area but didn't see me so I opened fire but always missed....My crosshair was pointing right onto These guys but my shots hit the ground before me. I made a role to the side but still my shots kept hitting the damn ground before me. In the meantime the two other Players figured out where I was and killed me. Is there a known bug with Shooting in prone or have I been unlucky with my characters Position? The Situation was really frusttrating since I would have easily killed both Players at once if there hadn't been this stupid Shooting glitch bug whatever in prone. Has anyone experienced this before? frosti 2165 Posted February 12, 2014 You were using crosshair while in 3pp? And yeah I expirenced bullets hit invisibe walls when shooting down hills very often, even if I stand.
-zEr0- 2 Posted February 12, 2014 I Play in third Person most of the time but when I have to shoot I make a rightclick on the mouse before to go into first Person. That's how I did it...

fitzee 248 Posted February 12, 2014 (edited) You were using crosshair while in 3pp?^This. Use your weapons sights, not the silly dot in your screen. As much as people want this game to behave like the typical arcady FPS'ers out there, it doesn't and hopefully never will. Regards. Edit: oh never mind. If you were using the weapons sights then I guess you were just in an unlucky glitch. Maybe some invisable mesh from a tree or something. BadAsh (DayZ) 1513 Posted February 12, 2014 There is a known bug occurring when prone (even sitting and sometimes standing) on a sloping hill while firing. It doesn't necessarily have anything to do with 3PP, although it might very well have, though.
chekovp 89 Posted February 12, 2014 Also keep in mind that the sight sits well above the barrel, especially if not iron sights. So what you see though the sight might not be what is seen through the barrel. During my time in the Army I have seen plenty of people shoot at whatever was directly in front of them(sandbag, 55 gallon drum, etc.) while using a CCO or ACOG.
drayson 158 Posted February 12, 2014 That sounds less than pleasent but will probably get fixed if it's already been reported.
TEST_SUBJECT_83 465 Posted February 12, 2014 This needs to be fixed asap! The bounding box for the ground is to high.It has been around since the SA released.Dean has been told about it on stream I've seen, but he's so scatter brained that Im sure it didn't stick. But yes this is a known bug and is very annoying to say the least.

KnightFall1856 24 Posted February 12, 2014 Happened to me while I was prone shooting downhill using my sights. No idea.
oregonized 673 Posted February 12, 2014 I love when server hoppers tell stories about camping new spawns without guns yet.
