Disappearing bodies

I KNOW this has been discussed, but any search for "disappear" "Disappearing" or "bodies" shows 0 results in the forums.... well, I guess I'll ask here.

 

Has anyone else experienced the disappearing bodies lately? I don't mean the 10 minute marker, I mean the 30 seconds one. What's the criteria for that?

 

I got into a gun fight with someone in Balota. I shot them, they fell. Dead. I'm waiting for a little to make sure he didn't have a friend, and suddenly he disappears. It must have been no more than 40 seconds between him dying and then his body vanishing.

 

So anyone have any idea what this is about?

Might have been unconscious and if he logs out then he dies, but you also don't get his gear because the body vanishes.

Maybe he was Unconscious, as soon as he regained conscience?(if that's even a word) he logged off?

I know for sure if you log off while unconscious your body disappears.

Dunno why.

Not completely certain it works the same if you died, but maybe the guy was unconscious after you shot him, rather than dead?

yes if you kill someone and they log the body will be gone, they need to fix it and fast i think.

Actually had a friend die to a noclip ladder free fall the other day. Took off all his gear just in case he couldn't get back in 10 minutes, his body actually stayed for the entire roughly 25 minute duration. We left before we saw it disappear which had been maybe ~30 minutes after his death, so they must have increased the time for body despawn or something.

 

Like other people have suggested, I've had people log out after I knocked them unconscious with my fists and just disappear maybe 10 - 20 seconds after before I could kill them. If I had to make an assumption, that is my guess as to what happened in this case.
