How to cancel the mouse scroll and quick weapon change?

How do you cancel the mouse scroll menu when you activate it? And is there a quicker way to change weapons besides using the mouse scroll?

Backspace should cancel it, by default. ; should change between your primary and secondary weapons, hope that helps :)

Right click also works.

On my beautiful swedish keyboard it's the key to the right of the L key that switches between primary and secondary.
