Mandatory thread search before posting a thread

Recommended Posts

I'm pretty sure this will cut down on all the threads about KoS or lag issues or loot respawning or someone saying this is their last alpha or whatever.

After clicking "post new topic" it brings you to a search bar and says "BE SURE YOUR THREAD TOPIC HAS NOT BEEN POSTED BEFORE" or something of the like. Would cut down on the shit the forum mods have to wade through

I wish I could give the OP thousands of beans. MILLIONS of it.

And 2 things:

1) minimum search length are 5 characters (I think) because everything else would bring up too many results

and if that didn't work...

Edit: Goddamn i can't type.

Not that I'm telling the Mods how to do their jobs (because my next suggestion would need to practically be a full time, paid gig) but if you're going to have the only stick in the section tell people to use search and if they don't they're post (on something already posted) will be deleted or merged, follow through.

Just in the last two days I've seen something like 8 different topics all asking for the same weapons.  No reason for that.  Merge those threads with one of the better posts that is having an actual discussion.

I suppose we as the community could also help out.  I've been trying to post links to similar posts and telling OP's to "check it out for good debate, people are definitely interested in this idea".  It seems to be working, people don't think I'm being a Dbag.

Disable all thread making buttons...  surely we have enough topics to keep us going for some time now!
