This is the first time I am doing a server write up, because the server I have recently started playing on, with my wife and best mate, really deserves the praise.Firstly, I had been out of the game for a few months with real life, we all know how real life can get in the way of our gaming ;), and me and my mate were going through a few servers a day, and getting any level of the normal Douche-bagery which comes with a lot of servers in these times. Admin's using tools to hunt new spawns, banned if you killed an Admin, random server resets without notice, The list wouild go on and on. Then my mate stumbled onto a real gem, and we have been playing there for 2 weeks now. It is Epoch, which we chose as a bit of a change up from the vanilla Dayz experience, But there is some very grand personal scripting and details to the server and new hand built places and towns, which really shine! The admins, Popeye and Shadow, have really spent a lot of time on the smaller details to make this server a new experience unto itself. The zombies are a real threat, and not just an annoyance, as they should be. You really have to think twice about pulling that trigger. There is a lot of custom locations around the map, which I wont go into here, for that is part of the exploring and finding out of your own. Also the prices about the traders are all custom to allow for a feel of a more balanced economy. It is a community based input server, with the admins giving high regard for what the players wish for, without ever compromising on the realism or survival aspect at all. Many addons planned for the future of the server, will take the form of making the world of dayz more of a challenge to survive everyday, in both regards to the PVP and Survivalist aspects of the game in general! Another great feature is the bounty system. If you have the means and the inclination, you can post a bounty out side of the game on the server forums, or if your feeling like a challenge, pick one up! There is nothing like placing or taking the challenge or a player bounty, to mix up the PVP aspect of the game. Lastly, I would like to mention the people which already play here. weather bandit or hero, they are a fantastic and mature bunch of lads which know how to have fun. It is a very great little community with TeamSpeak 3 setup and of course the servers own website and forums. I have gone for a different style of play, and have set myself up as the server "medic and Rescue" service, yell for the Doc should you need serious assistance. I would highly recommend giving this server a go, especially if your looking for a long term server WHICH you know will always do their best to bring you a grand experience. Been playing on this this server for over a year and before that I moved between different servers, never finding one really stuck with me. Even if you have never played on the server before, jump on teamspeak; there are always friendly people available to lend a hand. A great deal of time and effort has been made by the admins to make this server enjoyable for all those partaking, and it really shows. Hope to see some more new faces around.
