Lag bomb exploit?

Recommended Posts

Guys,

Is there some kind of "lag bomb" exploit going around at the moment does anyone know?

I have been playing on a server all day, the same server i usually play on (im not sure of the name, but its part of the standard hive, not a hard core server or anything) when I got disconnected near the NEAF.

I reconnect to another server, it all connects fine.  I run towards the NEAF first building, doors all shut etc, place is full of loot, looks good.

I then start to get serious FPS drop, and I notice a whole host of people being kicked from the server for battleye clients not responding (Ive always presumed this happens when peoples games crash)

I'd say the server had maybe 9 people on it, and I saw at least 5 kicked, all while I was getting serious FPS drop.  Then my game just froze, while I Was inside one of the buildings at NEAF. I was not near any windows or anything, if anyone wanted to kill me, they would of had to of come inside the building.

Now, any of the servers I log into, Im back on the coast with nothing.  IVe been through 3 that I usually play on, but its tricky with the anti combat logging mechanic.

Is there any way to see what happened to my character?  I'm wondering if people are exploiting the new logout system by camping the airfields, and "lag bombing"  the server close to them (OR maybe even their own server?) so everyone is disconnected and they can run in and kill the guy in 30 seconds.

Am I just being paranoid?

Rather annoying, I just spent all day building this character....but ZOMG ALPHA!  I just wanted to float the idea that this all seems a bit strange to me.  The way in which everyone seems to have disconnected, and I seem to have mysteriously died...

You were on the top floor?

If yes, then on the fps drop/lag you just went thought the wall and fell to your death.

I was on the top floor of the building that is not like an aircraft control tower, maybe a prison on the bottom floor? (There is a room with bars)

I started to get some FPS drop, I wondered WTF is going on but kept on playing.  I went down stairs, and as I went down the stairs, the fps continued to have spikes of dropping (if that makes sense!).  This continues with spikes of FPS drop down to maybe 4-5 FPS, and then it would recover again, the whole time I was seeing everyone else disconnect from the server as this was happening.  I was kind of next to the stairs at this point, on the ground floor (imagine coming into the building, and doing a right but not going up the stairs, i was in this bit)

It seems suspcious to me that a lot of people disconnected from the server at the same time it seemed.  It did not see myself visibly fall through the floor. I had reduce FPS for a total of maybe 1 minute, then the game froze completely and crashed.

I was just sitting on the floor not moving for a good 30 seconds, just looking around...waiting for the FPS to recover. Then it just stopped; and now i seem to have died

You were facing stairs then?

If yes, then you probably run up on them and then right throught the wall on top floor, then to  ground and ded,

Or alternatively, when you were going down the staris, you crashed into the ground on lag throught the floor, even if you saw yourself sitting on floor.

Stairs, ladders and top floors of buildings are death zones.

There is a memory leak at present related to the textures on certain Weapon Attachments, therefore military loot spawns will cause your FPS to plummet.

Ok, this has never happened to me before though.  Ive been to PLENTY of military spawns too. (Unless this memory leak is new for this version)

Im not saying that wasnt the cause, but everyone disconnecting at the same time has me a little suspcious.
