Food since update

Since the last update I've found food to be quite scarce can anyone recommend reliable places to go for food. Most houses I'm checking now are just empty before the update I always had enough so get by but now I'm struggling to avoid starvation at times now. I'm on the east coast if anyone can recommend a good building with a high spawn rate

Sulky, I thought this was in the patch notes or something too.

 

However, food is still the same for me. We've just looted a single town and kitted a newspawn friend out with gear+ food with no problem.

Usual places: Big houses with stairs, cafes, schools/office. We never bother looting the smaller houses. But if you're desperate, don't skip these.

Careful with houses with open doors, most of does are already clean from other players, but, you never know, it's a matter of timming of the server.

I would recommend just going straight inland off the coast.  Loot only respawns on server restart, so unless you're there right at the start, chances are someone has already spawned where you are and took anything of value.

 

You may be able to find a motorcycle helmet or a basic melee weapon, but it's a better use of energy to just go inland and go where others haven't.
