Need some techie help

So my friend comes over and uses my computer.

He has his own steam account with and Arma Combined Operations CD Key

He logs onto my cpu with his steam account to play some Dayz.

When he logs on he is playing my character with his name.

The question:

How does he access his own account and character on another computer?

The dilemma:

I want to sell my computer to him, but I do not want him accessing my character on Dayz with his steam account (neither does he).

I wanted to see if it was an isolated incident so I logged on my steam account on my son's computer and I was playing his character, but with my name. So what is the deal?
