Quick question. In standalone can I create multiple characters?

Recommended Posts

I have a character that is nicely geared right now but I kind of wanted to try a fresh one so I can mingle around an open area without caring if I died. Am I able to create more then one character on regular? Or is it 1 per regular 1 per hardcore?

Thanks.

You can do it with different player names, if this works in the standalone as it did in the mod. Try changing your name/player id, and you should have a brand new character. Just make sure to not lose your old id or name, or you'll be out of luck getting your original character.

1 per regular 1 per hardcore

at the moment.

@lulbot: doesn't work lol, I change my name all time for ****s and giggles, and it doesn't affect anything.

As of now you have a seperate charater for hardcore and regular servers, and seperate characters (regular and hardcore) for the experiemntal patch if you opt into it. Totaling at 4 if you use both stable and experimental patches.

^This.

It's not possible to have more than one character per hive. It's too open to exploitation, plus allowing people to screw around without endangering their 'serious' character that they actually care about kind of defies the point.
