Reloading

Im pretty new to Dayz and i never played the mod so maybe im just being a noob but is there anyway to reload a weapon before the gun is empty i just want to top off the ammo but it seems like i have to shoot 2 rounds intot he floor or something before i can fully reload

For which weapon specifically?

For the Mosin you can simply eject the bullets in the chamber/internal magazine.

For the M4, you can reload if you have another magazine, if not, you have to remove the current magazine and manually insert rounds into it.

The SKS is the same as the mosin and M4 (with clips).

Same goes for the shotgun and B95.

In you inventory, with the weapon in your hands, you'll see a little icon on that weapon that looks like bullets. Right click on them and click "Eject". Then you can load a fresh stack.

 

Its a little wonky right now and I'd love to be able to top it off in the future like you could in real life.
