Is the time in the server what determines if it will be night or day?

I'm just asking because I thought I joined a 10:00 server and it was night. Does anyone know if the time is what determines night or day? Thanks to all that can help.

No, i think it's the time on your computer, but i cannot be accurate.

The time displayed on the server list should match the time ingame, not sure why the server you joined didn't though.

Most times the server time should match the day time, not sure what happened with you.
