How to use the flashlight?

Pretty much what title says, im having trouble activating my flashlight, i see it says it runs on batteries, however in all my playtime of DayZ about 2 weeks, i've never even seen any batteries.

Press L to turn it on. I believe they either have a chance to short out, or after a set amount of time they just stop working. I'm not sure if that's true, but my flashlight just randomly stopped working at one point.

you need to equip it with rightclick and remove from toolbelt. than hit L.

Also, as a tip, never leave the light on constantly. Use it in 2-3 second bursts, or else you are a moving target.

and then make sure you have it and not you primary weapon selected. I made that mistake lastnight. I was ready to cry foul about it not working but then I noticed I had my enfield out

Also, it only works at night. You cannot use it in the day, even in a dark room. So if you play only during daylight hours it won't have any use for you.
