Hosting a dedicated standalone server

Hi,

 

I haven't been able to find the answer yet or the answer i am looking for. So I'm hoping someone can help me.

 

I part of the UnitedGamers.eu community and we already have Dayz Mod (tavian and epoch) servers running and we are hosting these ourselfs. So i was wondering if it is possible to host a standalone dedicated server on my own server. My server has enough CPU power, RAM and HDD to make it happen, but can't find anywhere how to do this.

In Dayz Mod you could request a server ID and mission file to host your own server that is part of the main hyve.

 

Anyone know more about this for the standalone? I would love to setup a dedicated server to support the cause, but dont want to pay 55 euro extra per month to do so when I already have the hardware in place to do it by myself.

Not possible to run a dedicated server for the standalone, you have to rent from one of the approved server hosters.

Thanks for the answer, but it kinda sucks. There are probably no plans yet to make this happen...

I hope they plan this - they need to. I have dedicated hardware I would like to throw one up on. I'm sick of paying these crazy prices for over subscribed servers at these hosting companies.

If you have a dedicated box at one of the approved server hosters, Not sure if they all offer this service though.

Then yes you can run a SA server on your dedicated box providing its for the community to play on.

But RDP access is disabled for those wishing to host them as I have been informed.

 

Plus if you are part of a Clan or a group of friends, it is pointless hosting a SA public server as these servers are there for the community so everyone can play on them and currently not for Clans/Friendly groups so on, as you have to abide by the rules.

If this is the case you are better of waiting for the SA private servers, which will be some time in the future.
