Your Best Methods To Preserve Your Character/Loot

So far I've seen people suggest Pressing ESC before anything else and trying another server. Do you guys have any other methods that work for you?

Ive once hidden my loot in a deserted house, when i had a useless shotgun so i left it there incase id find any bullets for it, it never got taken away... even tought i never got to find it again xD

I sneak. everyone seems to bitch about being fast, but when you see others first, thats my main goal. two shouts of "hands on your head", and if they are non compliant, a headshot from my mosin. If they comply, i establish contact, keeping a watch on their hands. its gotten my rather far. I search the big towns as a unequipped freshie, but then i move up into the mountain villages and live off a full backpack of food and water, only going out for the need of fun.

I think OP is talking about preserving your character when you spawn as a fresh spawn due to character not being loaded. Because then I do try to hit ESC and go to another server, no other method works for me in such cases.

Haha no problem, I actually went in this thread thinking you were trying to find help saving your gear when you'd die but after reading your post I understood. I had this problem quite a lot a few weeks ago, what also helps in my case (and others aswell) is sticking to a number of servers you trust to not to delete your progress and favorite them, less likely to end up in shabby servers ;).

Yeah, that's it really, in terms of resets (which it appears to be what you were originally asking about). Stick to the official list of servers, villayer servers ... I think there was at least one other provider that didn't experience the hive connection issues. Some resets will be impossible to avoid, being alpher and all. So, if you log in on the beach when you had a geared character log out immediately and try an official server or one with a provider that has been stable.

I'm pretty sure he meant combat logging. I saw ESC and decided to skim.

 

Seriously though I "Preserve" my gear but just not playing.

I mean the glitch when joining a new server to find all your loot/clothes and character all reset to default.

It's a common issue.

So far we have stick to common servers that work for you and stop playing. I guess that could work to.
