Because hopefully people have stopped crying and decided to play the game the right way, with day and night.

Otherwise, change your search settings to include "Day" or "24/7" in your hostname line.

I'd argue against there being an objectively "right" way to play DayZ.

That said, I personally enjoy servers with day and night. At least on the mod, where I'm not entirely blind at night. To further digress, I'd personally enjoy a day/night cycle that allowed me to experience both within a single session.

I wish I could play with grey night. I'd take that over my current night so dark I can't tell of I have been running into a fence for the last two minutes or not.

pump up your gamma and if that doesnt work mess around with the cloud setting. I'm having no issues seeing in the dark

Doh. Clouds. I'd read that but kept forgetting to change them. Perhaps that would help. Even with gamma maxed, I currently see nothing but stars.

Thanks for the reminder.

I actually refuse to play at night right now, it's too dark to enjoy, ive been in a forest at night in RL and could still navigate... Night time in this game is quite brutaaalll

Not true at all.

I join servers at 250 300 sometimes, and they always drop to a reasonable number once I get connected.

I'm confused... are you saying 150m/s is good or bad?

I was fine with playing on night servers, until I realized that turning on my flashlight was a death sentence, once I figured out how to crank my gamma I started asking myself whats the point? Its just like day time but with no color.

and basically zero zombies.

If the dev's did their jobs and make weapon spawns scarce and ammo impossible to find, we wouldn't have the problem of "Turn on flashlight, die, respawn" >.>

how so?  know where ammo spawns hop like a bunny till you find it.

When I say scarce, I mean scarce, and implement better anti-server hopping measures. That's the only advantage to private hives.

I'd even be a little more free and say that I've played out to 250 ms without too many issues.

Hardcore... Just saying...

I've been running around on a full server with a head torch at night and the worst that's happened is a group of 8 others commented about my undies in a hurtful way, before trading Tuna for medical care! It was horrible!

If you set your max and low ping to 0, you'll get roughly 500 or so more servers to pop up.

I'm glad you know what's best for the game, and how to direct the devs. Rocket can take another vacation.

In all seriousness, though, you'd still be a target, this time for every Rocky Balbambi and anyone with an axe. Those flashlights are fantastic for creating beacons that can be seen for kilometers, and really quite horrible for looting.
