Server Population Question

Recommended Posts

I think the problem with KOS and very rude behavior is due to the server populations. Since there are a max of 40 or so players, interaction is few and far between, which creates anxiety during those interactions.

I guess a question to people who have knowledge, but what is the server capable of? If servers held 200 or more people, I think you would see a lot more civil behavior with a lot less chance to have the KOS or anxiety from other human interaction. Any thoughts? With to low limit on server population, it tends to make people isolated and not connected to the server or to the community.

I actually think the result would be totally opposite and Cherno would turn into a Zombie infested Battlefield 4 deathmatch.

(I do want player counts to be higher tho, so maybe more survival balancing before increasing the cap)

A greater investment in a specific community and server would certainly help, I think. The server I play most frequently on the mod certainly has a fairly stable group of players and a greater sense of community, and my interactions, there, tend to be fairly balanced in terms of hostile versus peaceful.

With a stable community you see more rivalries and alliances pop up between frequent players. There are players I will go out of my way to kill, and others I will go out of my way to help, based mostly on past interactions.

Not that there aren't KoS interactions. Just a greater variety overall, in my experience.
