Master_Catfish 5 Posted February 4, 2014 I used a 'damaged' gun cleaning kit on my 'pristine' revolver, and it dropped the revolver to 'worn' quality. I don't know if this is intended, but I expect not. Hard to imagine that someone can mess up a gun cleaning that bad! I presume weapon quality has an effect on the weapon's performance? irishroy 1347 Posted February 4, 2014 thanks for the info, but the cleaning kit itself isn't bugged. it#s just the fact:when u use cleaningkit on a pristine gun, it will downgrade to worn
crimsonbzd 247 Posted February 4, 2014 i.e. you cannot make a gun "pristine" againDon't use the cleaning kit until your gun is Damaged.

hells high 676 Posted February 4, 2014 PS: Why would you want to clean a pristine gun? Because the best way to prevent damage is constant firearm maintenance. Its a cleaning kit, not a replacement barrel. I'm just going to use this ruined cleaning kit on my M4-.. OH SHIT NO NO NO GOD NO.

Master_Catfish 5 Posted February 4, 2014 Sorry to have not done a search before. I saw that the wiki didn't mention it, so I figured it might be unknown. I used a cleaning kit on my pristine gun because I fired it a few times to test it, and figured that the realism in this game might extend to keeping your gun clean after use.
