DayZ lag when joining friends on Steam

So i have this issue that when I join my friends on Steam on the same server and we meet up, i have some sort of lag that doesn't let me loot or drop or anything. Same goes for putting gear in my hands (like guns). I can run as before but people tell me that something that I am doing something else at that moment and i cannot see them. If i join the game alone then it works just fine.  My friend has exactly the same computer and we play on the same internet connection. Does anyone know why stuff like this is happening and how i can fix it?

had the same issue, with a friend, me from Italy and him from US, it should be fixed by now cause of the new patch...well atleast for me
