modding in the future!

I really hope rocket does open this game up to modding because i have a vision of an awesome mod for this game.

 

The mod splits you into two teams or groups of survivors, say 50 survivors each and they both have a base. One in the north and one in the south. (The north should have been built by then and i think it will be just as interesting as the south) Now loot is non existent on this server except in one place, this place could be like a city or a town or something in the middle.

 

The goal will be that both teams will have to loot this town or city if they want to survive and it will force confrontations and make for some epic battles while still sticking to its survivalist roots, the aim of the game will still be to survive but you would be forced to fight for your survival with a team of other survivors and likewise for the opponents.

 

'What happens if one team constantly beats the other team would they not have any food or anything'

 

If one team keeps losing then they would be forced to carry out an attack on the other teams base and if they lose then its game over.

 

Yes there are a lot of holes in the idea so there is no need to tell me but if it could be done somehow i think it would be the best mod going.

I will make a mod where zombies can't walk through the walls.

 

@OP nice idea but I think I've seen already smth similar in the DayZ mod.

Modding has been confirmed several times by Dean. Not until full release, at least, though.

This is a genuinly good idea at its core.

 

Two factions competing for survival.

 

The implantation however, would need to be done with great care and forethought, or it becomes just another first person shooter.

 

Things to concider: How much does each camp start with? Do they start with a camp? How common are guns? Do you start with guns? Maye each camp only has 3 pistols and a rifle to split between the 20 people. What prevents both sides from having a truce? What kind of natural problems do both camps have to deal with. 

 

It would be nice for a moderator to move this to the suggestions or general discussion forum. This forum is for new players :)

 

 

This takes the core ideas of DayZ and gives you a pre-built society. But tread carefully, or else you delv into first person shooter. How can you make the game about survival and interaction, instead of just who kills who. What gives life meaning, and death pain?
