Freezing in game and on the main menu

Hi

 

I've being trying to play Dayz for the first time today but after a few seconds the screen freezes, although I can still hear my character moving when I hit WASD. I have found that this problem happens both in the game and on the main menu, which says to me that it is not a graphics problem. Before the game freezes I mostly hear my computer fans speed up greatly even though the computer is still cool.

 

I have only had this problem on Metro Last Light.

 

My computer specs are:

 

Operating System: Windows 8 Pro 64-bit (6.2, Build 9200) (9200.win8_gdr.130531-1504)

 

Processor: AMD Phenom II X4 975 Processor (4 CPUs), ~3.6GHz

 

Memory: 8192MB RAM

Available OS Memory: 8154MB RAM

 

Graphics Card: AMD Radeon HD 7950

Update AMD catalyst drivers. IIRC version now is 13.12

 

One of my game buddies had same issue, especially the detail of no temperature raise, and updated them.

Updated my graphics drivers yesterday to beta version 14.1
