Waterbottles/Canteens + Scopes

Recommended Posts

You should be able to fill your waterbottle with any liquid, poison included. Imagine getting shot by a bandit, and he comes up looking to drink out of your canteen but doesn't have any purification tablets...does he drink it? or empty it? Is it poisoned, or just water? I think this would add a cool element.

Also, you should be able to use scopes as makeshift binocs if you don't have them equipped to a gun. If you find a hunting scope you shouldn't have to wait to have a rifle to put it on to look through it.

This is most likely to happen, along with diseases being attached to such items which could be potential to an infection.

to my knowledge, you can fill a water bottle with water from a pond, if its not treated you're likely to get sick from drinking from it.

In a real life survival situation you wouldn't carry a bottle of poison disguised as water around with you. Sounds very gamey/grief oriented to me.

This also most poisons would be fairly pungent (because they are made that way ususally) therefore using the "inspect" function should reveal that it smells pungent, but not alcoholic (because booze should be a thing).

Also, does anyone know what the Rasputin Vass is meant to be. It says it's made of Fermented Bread (which to me seems like i might be slightly alcoholic) but it acts like a soda when you drink it.

Kvass is an eastern European drink...

I do like this idea, so people can be quick and take a swig of noxious liquid, or inspect it first to make sure it's safe. And in a world like DayZ, I would carry poison in a canteen just for those

LOL

I don't know about poison's and whatnot, but I definitely can see where the Dev team is going with diseases and infections.  It might be kind of worrisome looting a canteen or bottle of another player because a) were they sick (sick status should become more common once introduced) b ) where did they get that water from, well or fresh source? was it purified?

I can water purify tablets becoming a new currency (once they revert the bug that causes a whole pack to be used per container).  Drinking any kind of water that you didn't fill from a clean source yourself will become like a semi-safer version of eating rotten fruit.  Probably around a 50/50 chance you get sick drinking pond water, knowing the Devs.  Not saying that is accurate, I don't know enough about that stuff, but likely for game balance what it would be.

But maybe i would poison waterbottles i find and don't want. So i can leave a trail of poisonous waterbottles around.

That's the main reason i want this, it would require an empty option though, currently the only way to empty a bottle is to drink it.
