Using the 300 round box

I have the box, and I don't know how to use it properly. I typically have to put it on the ground first in order to see its content. Is this the proper way or can I do it while its in my backpack?

you also put in your hands to see its content

you can put it into your hands but that way you can access only the first five (upper row while on ground) slots

Ah thanks for that, I just put it on the left panel (ground). Thats really odd, why not the entire thing from your hands?

I hot key mine to the 9 key, it will toggle in and out of your hands, also a tip if you use the M4 is to empty your 60 rnd coupled mags to get a stack of 60 5.56, then load it with your 30 stacks, then empty again, to fill your ammo can with stacks of 60.

Isnt the box bugged right now, though? I've read about it having a bad habbit of disapearing on logout(and not coming back when you log back in), taking any ammo stored inside with it..

It SHOULD show everything but it doesn't. Hm...maybe it's not a bug and the thought behind is like this: because you can just see the things on top while you hold it in your hands. Or because Alpha.

yep, so you can make it a 600 rounds box ;)

afaik not more than any other item (though I havent found the time to play on the experimental by now) but yes, I encountered this too...but also with other items.
