Yes, I know this is far from an ideal gaming setup and i'm not an avid gamer so if there's any other information I need to know please say.

Well, I don't insist on spending hundreds of pounds as like I said, i'm not an avid gamer. Can you make any small recommendations?

Arma 2 is a very heavy game, small changes won't make a difference on your already old system.

Try arma 2 free though.

I run the game on a low system to

Dualcore E5200@2,50Ghz

4GB Ram

nivdia 9500GT

I run the Game on 1680x1050 with normal to low details and 100% 3D solution, run about 30 FPS in citys.( as long as its a good server its alwyas playable, even with heavy firefights in the rain)

Since your system is nearly the same ( you have a better CPU i have the slightly better GPU [google say so ^^])

i say try Arma 2 Free, ifts running smooth you can run DayZ to ( at least that was the case for me )

Ps: You have a Benchmark test in Arma2free us it ;)
