Recommended Posts

Hello there!

I've wanted to get your opinions on a YT series I want to make for DayZ :)

Or episodes (currently 2):

and ep 2:

So...what do you think? I'm asking the non-troll part of the internetz :P

Hey man,

I watched about the first 7 mins, so it's not everything but here are my 2 cents.

1. Your voice is epic dude, although from time to time you sounded really bored :P

2. You've definitely got the potential for building someting out of this

3. The main concern I had was how are you going to make this stand out, as we are both aware, Frankie has got pretty much all control over the fanbase, so how do you plan to sell your series more than his?

Hope this helps :)

Hello, thank you for the reply!

ad.1 I figured out that it was due to the running bits between the cities, but I decided (from ep 2) to cut them and make transitions in between to avoid dullness.

ad.2 Thanks, I'm trying cuz I simply enjoy it and like it :)

ad.3 I wouldn't plan on making my series more than anyone elses. I don't treat it as a contest - rather than that, I treat it as a fun opportunity to learn more about making videos while having fun and trying out different concepts within a given framework that hopefully someone other will enjoy watching. I admire the work of Frankie, and who knows, maybe some day in the future I'd be blessed with the opportunity to make a collab with him, but for now, I think that a loose, fun attitude, consistency and good contact with other people who like such movies will be more than enough to give the series directions and over time gather some small fanbase perhaps - but I've learned that goals like "need to be fun and popular, get fans" is never the way to go, quite the opposite, show people your work, listen to advice (even if crytical) and try to learn and adapt something from it to implement in the next episodes :)

Thanks again for the pointers and warm words, I will be more than happy to also read what other members of the boards have to say. I'll be updating this thread from time to time when a new episode is released - hope that's ok :)

Best regards,

Kavalorn
