Food/drink condition

Is there any benefit to eating a pristine can of -whatever-, vs eating one thats badly damaged?

Increased chance of getting sick from the dinged up can of food/water/soda? you get less servings from a less-then-quality item?

Don't know man, but from my experience, I think it might. I actually ate a pristine rotten kiwi, just to see what would happen, but nothing happened. I ate other rotten foods before though and they hurt me, so I don't know, but I'm guessing it might.

Eating rotten fruit is never a good idea >.>

Though ive yet to see a negative effect from eating a worn/badly damaged can of food, though. Was just wondering if there is a drawback to that now, or if its planned to put in the chance of..say..food poisoning, depending on the can's condition.

Pfft, what's wrong with eating a rotten fruit? The little green and black spots on it make me think of chocolate! Seriously though, I don't know if food poisoning is even in the game. Most of the things in standalone don't change based on their condition. The only thing that matters at the moment is gun parts, I believe.

I've heard/read that eating rotten fruit will make you sick, and thus players(bandits) have taken to using them on tied-up victims/unconscious victims. And since this game is trying to be as realistic as possible, makes sense that outright rotten food would be bad for you.

Havnt heard/or read anything about the condition-effect of canned food though.. hence my question.

You have a 50% chance to get light food poisoning upon eating rotten fruit and a 5% chance of a medium food poisoning.

It doesn't matter if your rotten kiwi was pristine or not.

You die from rotten fruit...

I don't think there's a difference between pristine and ruined food right now.

I think the status of foods should give between 100% energy and 'x'% per level of quality, and if a slight chance of getting sick.
