huptut 1 Posted June 23, 2012 we already know that animals can survive this zombie apocalypse why not add horses? make it so instead of gas/repairing you need to feed and water your horse to keep it "running" and alive. (that's right bean powered horsies) Have some saddles you can find so u can eventually make it a pack horse. Make them a random field (5%?) spawn since vehicles are so rare but also make them not as fast as a motorcycle maybe like bicycle speeds or a bit faster?what you guys think?Maybe even add a feedbag in order to feed your horse? JagerWulf 0 Posted June 23, 2012 I like the Idea of having horses in a game that's based around a farming communities, they would be quieter than a car or motorbike, could eat grass from the fields so food should not be that much of a problem and it can drink from the ponds, you would need at least a bit & bridal to ride with better results when one gets a saddle and saddle bags for more storage space, which would unfortunatly lead to a new type of bandit the horse thief, if to many undead are around the horse could get spooked and bolt making you chase after it, I think that's a great idea to add to the game/mod. Less complicated than developing all of the programming for horses... The only problem, snipering someone off a mount is fairly easy. A big target like a horse and rider would be hard to miss... On a third note, you'll probably end up having your horse shot by some bandit or outrun and eaten by zombies before you can properly...*ahem*...."enjoy" it. I'm sorry, I'll show myself out now.[/quote']I don't think it would come to that,"DayZ Undead Redemption" and yes push bikes are useful as well, but the idea is to have other alternative modes of transport, not just the best ones, having horses in the game does add bonuses and disadvantages, true a slow moving horse is quieter than a car, a fast moving one is just as load as a car, horses are more all terrain and can move more easily through the forest were a car or bike mite not, a man sitting on a horse while the horse stands still is an easy large target, but if he and the horse were on the move, well whose to say all boils down to the shooters skill, basicly there are lots of pro's and con's to owning a horse in dayz and that's what makes them interesting.I've tried riding a bike in this game it is not that easy as you think.
