While using steam, the _runA2CO_beta.cmd doesnt work

Recommended Posts

Hello, i have a problem with my steam ARMA2:CO while trying to play DayZ. Ill explain what i have done and what kind of problem im having.

1. I installed both Arma2 and OA via the steam launcher.

2. I then started OA and installed the Battleeye anti-cheat program.

3. I installed the latest beta patch (93965) as administrator.

4. I created a new folder in the OA folder and named it '@DayZ', i then created a Folder in the '@DayZ' folder and named it 'Addons'

5. I copied all the DayZ 1.7.1.5 files into the 'Addons' folder (14 files in total)

6. I edited the _runA2CO_beta.cmd file, adding ;@dayz to the end of

''-mod=%_ARMA2PATH%;EXPANSION;ca''.

7. I tried to run the _runA2CO_beta.cmd file, a small cmd window popped upp for half a second or so and then nothing happened.

So my problem is that i cant start the game via the _runA2CO_beta.cmd file, and when i try to play on DayZ servers through the normal OA exe file i get 'bad version' and 'You cannot play/edit this mission, it is dependent on downloadable content that has been deleted.dayz_code, dayz_weapons, dayz_equip etc.'.

Am i missing something? is this a known bug? anywho, id apreciate any help i can get. i run a Windows 7 64-bit operating system, and myfriends who used this method are playing the game right now.

You want to be right clicking on OA and clicking " Launch ARMA II: Combined Operations " in STEAM.

i follow the instructions in this post 'http://dayzwiki.com/wiki/index.php?title=How_to_install_DayZ#ARMA2_Beta_patch' and it worked for my 2 friends, so it should have worked for me i thought. I will try out your suggestion though.
