Extension Packs

Calculate the profits the DayZ devs have already pulled in.

In the first month, over 1,000,000 copies were sold, each a cost of $29.99. If you add it all up, that's $30 million dollars (almost). If you cut out valve's cut, which I think is 30%, they're still left with $23,000,000.

Now, if you can't develop a good game and keep updates consistent with $23,000,000, there's something wrong with your dev team. I know the DayZ team are very hardworking and will continue to develop and fix this game until it's in a polished state at least.

Also, Dean mentioned previously his intentions to release DLC for free.

Additionally, it's way too early to release expansion packs, considering the game is in pre-alpha in a buggy and unfinished state.

Boehema is a corporation, and it legally binded by law to earn as much money as it cans.

It is literally illegal not to be making as much as profit as possible.

Aw, that's cute. You watched The Corporation and say the stupidity they said as if it were true. Firstly, corporations are not legally bound by law to earn as much money as possible. PUBLICLY TRADED corporations have a contractual obligation to not spend their money in ways that will knowingly hurt the value of the investment made by the public. If they don't, there is no law that will fine them or put their officers in prison. It will result in a simple breach of contract that must be followed up by the investors suing them. Oh, and BIS is a privately held company so this doesn't even apply.

Because buying an alpha and then paying for updates is quite literally the most retarded thing ever.

Seriously, not EVERY game needs to charge you for content. Especially not bug fixes.

Bug fixes does take heavy development time, they are the same as features, plus you pay for the game as it is, bug fixes are an addition.
