vvarpidgeon 0 Posted January 28, 2014 There is nothing quite as terrifying as hearing a distant persons voice off in the dark unknown while exploring Chernarus. The only problem though is that everybody, including my friends and I, are using outside VOIP programs to get around the in game direct communication feature. Thus making communication possible without ever giving away our presence. My suggestion is that the in game direct communication is ALWAYS on so any sound coming from your microphone gets pumped in to the game. Maybe this could be hardcore server only thing or a toggle feature set up by the host.
knifeparty 109 Posted January 28, 2014 (edited) Many people would have tons of other things going on while they game. I know that sometimes here, at my home, it can be a madhouse. I can understand what your getting at, and perhaps having it as a server option might work, but I would imagine it would not be very popular. I could just imagine, me and my pack silently trying to work our way through town when my daughter storms in the room and says "HI DAD!" in her usual, loud, cheery voice. cover busted, bandits key in on us and squad wipe.... No thanks. Sounds like an option that would cater to too few resulting in less overall options for servers. (noting that my dog is barking his balls off at something as I post this) Edited January 28, 2014 by wolf-mind
Monkfish (DayZ) 339 Posted January 28, 2014 I have a dog that regularly barks and a Mrs that insists on talking to me (well, at me) when I have a headset on, neither of which I would want to broadcast into the ether. Besides, people in games who don't use PTT and constantly transmit the sounds of whatever is going on around them should be punched in the face until they stop. So no.

Statik (DayZ) 2695 Posted January 28, 2014 No.The slurping of Mtn Dew and crunching of Cheetos will infuriate me.
vvarpidgeon 0 Posted January 29, 2014 I agree that it would be tricky but that's why I'm saying leave it as an option. If you insist on chomping on cheetos while you game then join a regular server but I just wish there was an option for those of us without kids or loud distractions to have more of a simulation mode. limblesskody 4 Posted January 29, 2014 I like the idea as a server option. The extra option wouldn't be a bad thing and if it turns out that unpoplular people won't join those servers but one to two servers with that option gives the players that want it a chance to play like that.
