Customize character = lose progress?

Hey, just wanted to ask you guys fast. I've played most of the day to get some good items on the game, which at first was REALLY hard. But it turns out i was simply looking at the wrong places. Question though. For some reason the game customized my character to be a black girl after a death. And i didnt bother to change it at that time. Now that me and my friend has A LOT of equipment i wanna change my character from a girl to a man. Will that create an entire new character or will my items still be there?

No, you have to die first, and then it'll create the new character.

Your stuff will be fine, though. :)

I suppose if you have a friend with lots of back pack room, you could die and meet up at the shore.

(If you want to change, make sure you click "Set Default" when you're done creating your character.)
