the_daddy2009 15 Posted January 27, 2014 Have yet to join a Hardcore server, just wondering what differences there are between that and Regular?
fluxley 2228 Posted January 27, 2014 The only difference right now is that all hardcore servers are set to first person only, FPP:OFF They have plans to add more changes later.
w0lf3x 6 Posted January 27, 2014 The main difference I notice it that you can only use 1st person view. Not to mention it's on its own hive so anything you do on "Hardcore" is saved on that hive.EX: You have are fully kitted on a Normal, and you go to Hardcore you won't have anything carried over. All progress done on one won't be carried over. It's almost like having two different game saves.

dreamazing 1 Posted January 27, 2014 so does this mean that if i played fully kitted on normal's then go to hardcore i start fresh but when i go back to norms do I still have that normal save with my gear or no?
Ultimatom 0 Posted January 27, 2014 I have been playing for quite a while now on Hardcore servers and the difference i have seen is that the loot in general is very rare. When i mean rare i mean you cant find food without searching all town/building , also i think there are bugs with spawning items since every garage i have been is empty.Furthermore first person view is only enabled. One thing i have experienced is that zombies are less likely to cause bleeding.(Maybe i am lucky as fk:P). Rare? i've been on the same server so far, ran from kamenka to berezino, looted the entire area for supplies, items in every building, zombies everywhere, met tons of other friendly people, went up to NEAF, got kitted out, headed west to NWAF, moved down to the south today, met 3 more friendly people, so far hardcore has been the best dayz experience for me since the mod, better looting, more interaction, more immersion, less kos'ers(they seem to hate first person :D ) Edited January 27, 2014 by haatzmaut
yogi92 50 Posted January 27, 2014 so does this mean that if i played fully kitted on normal's then go to hardcore i start fresh but when i go back to norms do I still have that normal save with my gear or no? Regular servers are under one hive, hardcore servers are under another hive. You get to have one character for a regular hive and a separate character for a hardcore hive. Clear?
gungza 29 Posted January 27, 2014 it does look like there are slightly more zombies on hardcore but it might be my imagination.
Awruk 216 Posted January 28, 2014 Hardcore servers will be kept the way they are whereas regular ones will have new features added such as: pvp zones, hp regeneration, no full loot, no 1pp etc.
