possible cheater - Atlanta 8 - NightViper

Recommended Posts

ho-kay, I have no hard proof, but some of the things I saw were suspicious, so I'm reporting it here.

June, 22. Atlanta 8 server.

me and my friend saw a guy moving from his tent in a field towards some trees. the server was set to the Recruit difficulty level, so we could see the guy's nickname - NightViper. as soon as he reached the trees he disappeared from our sight. we couldn't see his name anymore. minutes later he reappeared on the field running from a different direction to his tent. my friend opened fire on him, at which point NightViper dived into nearby bushes. note that we could still see his nickname.

we waited for him to disconnect, but there were no messages of him leaving the server. so I went up to the bushes from the other side - only to find no one in them.

so ok, we thought, he's in the lobby, he'll be back soon enough. and he did come back. only from a completely different direction. as soon as my friend went into the field to check the tent, NightViper engaged my friend from the trees (pretty much the same pos my friend had been at minutes before). my friend managed to wound him, at which point NightViper Alt+F4-ed.

how do I know that? well, the server said "NighViper losing connection". and this is the sole reason I'm writing this post. because before that the server never said he left (we kept checking the player list, and his name was there).

now, it's quite possible that all was just some bug. or lag. or whatever. but still it could be worth checking.
