Map, how to view it?

Recommended Posts

Hi lads..  I've had a few in-game maps now, but i can't figure out how to view it.

"Put the map in my hands, press the key assigned for map", but all i get is a black screen.

I presently have a Western & Northern map, and I am out west.. but i just get a black screen.

I only play on 'hadcore' mode, if that makes a difference.

hanks for any help.

Move the map into your hotbar while its in your inventory and just press the assigned hotkey to pull it up.  If you have tried this and still getting a black screen please let me know.

Hmmm I did try this but nothing happened at all.  But the whole hotbar is a bit hit or miss at times.. i'll try it again.  So you dont press the map key, i have assigned m as map in assignments.

Thanks

What I do is left shift + tab to bring up the stream overlay then use the stream browser to put in this link ; http://www.dayztv.com/map/

Then I catch my bearings with a sign on the road then hit Esc to pop back in game. You can use a tablet or dual screens but it really depends on what works for you best.

Thanks Steak & Potatoes it worked as suggested.  It was just the buggy hotbar that caused the trouble.  Sometimes that hotbar is just fubar,

And yes i'm well aware of the loot maps, but don't want to use them.  The ingame maps are more fun to navigate by.
