Random zombie sound glitch bitch-fest

Recommended Posts

I know this issue has been brought up, but dear lord, is it annoying.

Recently in the NW airfield and for the last hour before that I'm hearing zombie screams every 30 seconds. I get to NW airfield, do a quick scan and don't see any zeds. I don't know where the fuck this one zed appeared after i was sitting in a Bush carefully surveying the airfield for about 3 minutes. I had no idea he was actually there (in fact I can't tell how I aggroed him as I was 100% concealed in that bush) but he wails on me forcing me to run out and try to chop him... and then I'm sniped.

I just needed to get it off my chest how agitating that was. It's an Alpha and I expect glitches, but I reserve the right to be pouty.

lol i love the line "reserve the right to be pouty".

Beans for you sir. haha

Indeed.

But seriously?

I find it irritating as well. Im sick to death of hearing half formed zombie grunts, soda cans opening, and crunching noises every 5 seconds on hi pop servers.

THIS. THIS IS WHY....

THIS IS WHY I PLAY EXCLUSIVELY ON LOW POP SERVERS. I HATE that there aren't many people around to interact with (weather that's talking or interaction that moves at muzzle velocity), but I hate THAT even more.

I know, its alpha. I fully grasp that concept. I just hope they find a way to fix it soon...

I figured I should have pointed out that I am indeed just being grumpy about something that should be expected. I don't know the first thing about programming, coding or any other technical aspect of making a game, let alone one of those scope. This particular sound glitch is currently very frustrating when it gets you jacked up because you're eventually taken off guard when a zombie is actually there, but I don't know how difficult this glitch is to fix.

All I know is that this particular sound glitch has been happening a LOT more lately, and it's gotten me killed at least three times because I don't know I've aggroed a zed until it's right on me, causing me to get hit and then either bleed to death or alert KOS players to my location.

Ha, ghost sounds I call them. Was on a field yesterday, saw three guys 200m away looting a building, hit the deck, and hit next to a stone wall. Did not know whether they had seen me, so I stayed there for a couple of minutes, until I heard a soda can opening right behind me. I thought they ghosted me and nearly shit my pants. Nobody there though. Would have been one cool move though, sneak up behind a guy just to open a soda can.

Anyway these half-grunts of Zombies are unnerving, as are the rattles of fences.

I heard a mosin or shotguns shot yesterday as well. Like it had been fired 60m away from my position, but not at me, could not find anyone though. Stuff like this is really getting me wound up. :D

It definitely creates a certain level of difficulty when you cannot pin a location on a shooter, even more so when it sounds like they are right next to you.  I have died a couple times because i heard "close shots" and acted upon them.

What really gets me, is the desync connection lost in major cities.  I will either catch up and be dead or be forced to change servers which also results in death...

lol the other day, i desynced when running on a hill.  Was forced to re-log.  I came in on a steep part of the hill, as i came in i slid all the way down, slid off a rock into the air and fell to my death...

It doesnt matter what happens to me in DayZ, lol ill always come back.
