DayZ Radio - Making your short life a moderately enjoyable one

Recommended Posts

Hello. Now, this idea may be a terrible one, and yes, it expands from other ideas that I have read through. A radio station, similar to WoWRadio, or other video game radio stations, but hopefully being broadcast ingame (if it cannot be done, then out of game might be an option). Stemming from the idea that people have been blasting tunes through their voice comms and generally lagging out the server. We wish to create a friendly, talk-show style station inside DayZ with the possible implementation of radios.

Yes, it may break the game, and this is why we are keeping it as an idea for now, as a lightning rod to attract criticism.

Possible Radio Broadcasts/Pre-recorded Segments: Bandit Reports: e.g. broadcasting messages around to Area X that Bandit Y has been murdering everything.

ZAP Hour (Zombie Appreciation and Protection Hour): A silly idea based around keeping zombies alive for an hour, and having challenges for the brave.

Shoutouts/Messages: from survivor to survivor, meet me here blah blah, use at your own risk, as you are broadcasting your location.

Tips on how to survive: Pretty self-explanatory, simple stuff for the scrubs, or easily fooled.

Would the idea work better as a website out of game?

Thanks.

I'd love the idea of a radio station playing played inside a house or supermarket, quietly, yet it'd still add atmosphere to the game. However what gets played on the radio station I have no idea.

I was imagining a mixture of Talk Show radio with some nice music. Either community made, or chilling, ambient songs to add to the atmosphere.
