Dr. Goner 661 Posted January 24, 2014 Hello All, I logged this officially into the bug tracker here : http://feedback.dayzgame.com/view.php?id=7449 Please vote and contribute useful information there. Basically since the most recent patch. When looting dead corpses, items appear in the corpses inventory and the looting players inventory simultaneously. I also had a friend loot the same item from a corpse and when he did this, the item disappeared from my inventory and then appeared in his and the corpses inventory. Just curious if anyone else has seen this and possibly has a more in depth understanding of what is going on. Thanks!
Jack Dant 158 Posted January 24, 2014 Yes, this has happened to me, with a fireaxe and with a backpack. I think my backpack I looted off my own corpse is haunted, because this morning it had items I'm sure I had dropped last night, and a box of 7.62 ammo I don't remember picking up. Maybe there's another guy out there who also looted my corpse.

knifeparty 109 Posted January 24, 2014 This happened to my buddy last night... He stated "the loot on this body is being duplicated". I tried to take a saline bag off of the body and replicate the bug, but could not. For some reason it was only affecting him. Also of note, the rifle he had picked up off of our fallen comrade ended up disappearing from my friends inventory and he had to re-loot it from our fallen comrade. A food item that he had taken off of the body appeared to be "infinite" as he would eat from it, and the percentage would not go down from 100%. I couldn't get that to work either on my character either.
Dr. Goner 661 Posted January 24, 2014 Yeah, it's a pretty rough bug. I really appreciate all of you taking the time to visit the link and vote on it. Another strange note, after I was killed last night, my friend watched my corpse from about 800 meters away. I ran back to the body, all the while, he was saying, "it's still here, it's still here" When I got there, there was not body but he could see it through his scope. He's like, "you're standing right over it man, it's right there." There was nothing, it wasn't invisible to me either, I didn't get the gear or hide body option when scroll wheeling. Eventually he said, "Ok, it just disappeared." Not sure what that's all about. I feel like all these strange issues with corpses and mirrored inventory are related. Dr. Goner 661 Posted January 24, 2014 (edited) Yes, this has happened to me, with a fireaxe and with a backpack. I think my backpack I looted off my own corpse is haunted, because this morning it had items I'm sure I had dropped last night, and a box of 7.62 ammo I don't remember picking up. Maybe there's another guy out there who also looted my corpse. I experienced this as well. I took a dead characters tactical vest. I dropped items from it. I noticed something was odd when I couldn't place other items in the slots where the item I dropped had been previously stored. At first, I thought it was related to the vest being "ruined" but then after logging out and back in. The original item I dropped had returned to it's place in the inventory. So, I'm guessing I couldn't place items there because the item I dropped was in fact there but not visible. EDIT: Please god, someone tell me what I just typed there makes sense. knifeparty 109 Posted January 24, 2014 Yeah, there has been some really weird inventory things going on. I spray painted a mp buttstock on my M4 and it disappeared.. I sat around for approximately 10-15 minutes, and it never appeared.. I said forget it and logged out. The next day when I logged back in it was sitting in my inventory like nothing ever happened. I had also spray painted an entire pristine tricked out mosin + LR scope.... entire thing disappeared. I sat around about the same amount of time and it never showed. That one kinda got to me.. only thing that made it alright was that I was sitting right next to a shotgun and figured it was time to try that out. I know it's unrelated but figured I toss that one out there.

Dr. Goner 661 Posted January 30, 2014 bump Bumping this due to the topic arising again in the most recent patch thread. Please go to the original bug tracker and vote up. Also anyone with information about how the bug tracker works please let me know through PM or here. From my observation, there are bugs marked as fixed that are not fixed in game. Thanks! http://feedback.dayzgame.com/view.php?id=7449
