Switching Backpacks (Question)

Recommended Posts

Hello. I have a question about transferring items from one backpack to another. I'm still new to DayZ, and one issue I have been having is when I find a new backpack (or any gear really: pants, shirt, etc.) I want to put all my items in my old slots into the new item's slots. What I end up doing is slowly moving each item from my equiped backpack into the one laying on the ground. Then dropping my old one and equipping the new one with my items in it. The problem is that my items are in the open for a decent amount of time and I have had other players come up and grab the pack before I'm finished. Is there an easier way to transfer all of your items into a new container, quickly and safely? Thank you.

I know double clicking on stuff in the vicinity of you on your inventory menu will bring it into your inventory, but Im not sure about transferring entire packs at once.  So if you put your pack on the ground and put on the new one, you have to double click each item to bring it into the new one.

Faster than dragging stuff one thing at a time.

I've seen videos of players just moving enough items over to the new one to make enough room to carry the new backpack in the old, then move to a safe spot and make the full transfer there. Other than that I don't think there are any easy ways to do that.

And when you think about it, it should take time to transfer a large inventory from one backpack to another. The items need to be carefully packed in order for them all to fit into such a small space.
