items lost when going to different server

after this last update I can not change servers without my character restarting. any way to fix this?

Yes, use the search feature. You're probably going from a hardcore server to a regular one. In which case you are changing characters.

There was a while where the hives were down, or up and down sporadically last night, which I'm sure had some to do with it. I hadn't checked today, but there are a lot of discussions out there about some way to set up private hives which also might have a role in your issue.. I wish I had a better answer for you but most of what I am basing this off of, are google searches, these forums, as well as the twitter pages of much of the development team. Nobody definitively covers everything.. much is speculation.

 

edit: that is assuming (as mentioned above) you are not simply changing from hardcore/regular/experimental.. they all have different hives as far as I know.. (i.e. you have a different profile on each one).
