Character Issue

So i've got a question if im the only one having this issue

 

i logged on last night it showed up that i had no character and thought its just a wipe cause of the patch that doesnt bother me i made the char went on play and spawned as a character i had about 3 weeks ago then my gf wanted to check if her char got wiped aswell on her steam so logged off mine logged on hers went on DayZ but it was my Tag that was stil there clicked Play on hers she had a fresh spawn went back on mine then i got a fresh spawn aswell and now when i log out and go back in i always start as a fresh spawn it doesnt seem to save my character

 

 

 

EDIT: 17.44 i logged out and in again and spawned with my character from 3 weeks ago once again  Does anyone have any clue of what might be causing it?

EDIT: 17.49 Just for a Confirmation Thing on my screen that DayZ could not Locate Something called Character Edgear or what it was called, Going to try repairing it though steam Reinstalling if it does not work

Im having the same problem

And im making sure that i join "Regular" servers... and not "Hardcore" since hardcore will always start you fresh upon logging into it

(And its supposed to not effect the character your use for regular servers)

either way i recreated the problem 5 times last night.... and made sure that every log in and log out was on regular servers .... every time the spawn was a fresh one..... 

Got to the point where i just spawned in.. went to a house ... waited 5 minutes (to make sure i wasnt getting the quick log in quick log out reset bug)... logged out and logged into a different regular server..... only to be a fresh spawn in a completely different area....

It has something to do with the "Hardcore" rule-set clashing on certain servers i believe... but i cant be sure.. im not a dev

Try and join servers which are your time region, it now says the time in the server list.

that time has nothing to do with "Region"

the time is a GMT time to state what time it is inside the game server ... as in is it night time 17:00-07:00 or day time 07:00 - 16:00 (these arent accurate just using an example)

So those times are to reference what point of the day the game is at..... and has nothing to do with your local real life time.....

I never played the Arma mod

So im still kinda in the dark on how "Hives" work

i know they are basically clusters of servers that share the information of your character (allowing you to play your character's save from one server in a hive to another in the same hive) and if im correct up until this patch.... every server was on the same hive

So maybe this is whats causing the problem for some players with characters resetting from one "Regular" server to the next?

well it IS alpha and i knew what i was getting into... so time to squash this bug i guess!
