So I get on to see there's a update but it will not let me start the game.

Any help?

right click on dayz in your game list...somewhere in there is an option to verify your game files...it will probably redownload some stuff and then you should be able to play...if not then you need more guidance than i can provide....

Still no success. I found no option to verify game files but there was an option to backup game files but it won't even let me do that. It says it has to finish updating which it already did...

Go to DayZ -> Properties -> Local Files tab. Verify Integrity of Game Cache is the last button.

If that doesn't fix the problem, go to your Documents folder and delete the folders 'DayZ' and 'DayZ Other Profiles'. This will delete any settings and variables that may have become corrupted. You'll lose your graphics settings and have to reset them if you're using anything other than the defaults, but all other info will be reconstructed from the hive when you reconnect.
