Hacker gets the last laugh.

This guy was being very generous, but I'd just come off a frustrating death and saw this as an opportunity to quickly gear myself back up. I found it too difficult to resist when he said "do you have an axe?"

 

Unfortunately I axed the wrong individual.

 

Although i do concede to the fact that what i did was a dick move considering his generosity, I think that his behavior is worse in the scope of things. Cheats/exploits/hacks/whatever he did are the kind of thing that can ruin an online multiplayer game like DayZ. The behavior I exhibited is simply an aspect of the game that makes DayZ what it is. 

 

I did get owned though dammit, and it is pretty funny. Just don't lose sight of the seriousness of it.

 

In order to get back to playing after being teleported to what I assume is the "debug zone" I had to let my character starve to death. Which meant leaving my computer sitting there playing dayz for a few hours since i wasnt hungry at all. ALSO with the latest patch my character on regular servers got rolled back a week, so guess what? Here I am back floating in the ocean. All in all I lost many hours of gameplay to this incident.

You know that by using hacked/duplicated items you can be banned as well? You should have just hand cuffed him to figure out his name after you recorded it and then reported him along with the server name.

it was obvious within a few items being dropped that he was hacking but you continued to accept these items clearly knowing they were being hacked into the game. Had he not griefed you by teleporting you we would not be seeing this as a post. You would have just went on your way and killed others with your hacked in items all the while acting like your not cheating and beliving it too. I feel you have posted enough evidence of you cheating since it is blantanly obvious those are hacked items dev team should ban your account. Just my opinion.

Alright. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion I guess. At the time I didn't know that you could spawn items into the game, if that is what he was indeed doing. From the time I was confronted by him I just wanted the mosin on his back, not the crappy loot he was dropping on the ground. In fact the only thing I took was a pair of cargo pants , which I have yet to find a way to terrorize people with. I was only just becoming curious where all these items were coming from towards the end of the conversation, but was more preoccupied with looking for an opening to take his life.

He isn't just "Hacking in items", he's teleporting them from where they already spawned. Hence why it was all a bunch of crap gear and not "Here have a bunch of ttsko and pristine gun parts". Also if it were a bannable offense you'd be saying that if a hacker server hopped and left a can of beans on each server - Whoever picks up those beans are applicable of said ban.. Which would be the new hacker MO.

You will never get banned for using items you found or aquired without hacks.  Dosent matter if a hacker duped them in.  That is just a myth to scare people.  Ask any dev or mod.
