How come I spawned in different locations?

So I was playing on a night server and I checked to make sure it was public. Then I left and then I joined another server that was also public but it was daylight during that time on the server. When got in I was spawned like a new person. What happened?

Hardcore/Regular Hives or char was wiped, almost 10 threads available to discuss this
