Fiktion 2 Posted January 23, 2014 Been playing and enjoying the game even in the alpha with all the bugs so after coming home today and seeing the new about the patch and the wipe i was eager to get in and check things out. Problem is that I can only now make it to the start screen where the "Play" "Change Server" options are, from there no matter what I choose the game locks up and the process cannot be killed from explorer. I have tried many things such as; -noPause, verify game cache etc etc Is this happening to others? I see many posts about things bugging in game and frame-rate issues but anyone else stuck at login? Thanks!

TIC 1050 Posted January 23, 2014 Are there any types of errors being displayed when you try to click "Play" or "Change Server"?

Fiktion 2 Posted January 23, 2014 Are there any types of errors being displayed when you try to click "Play" or "Change Server"? No errors just a complete lockup after clicking either "Play" or "Change Server." Also on a side note, my character doesn't load at the login screen just the usual animated background. I know that most likely doesn't help but thought i would mention it..

djporternz 644 Posted January 23, 2014 Try this: (Yes, now I'm resorting to quoting myself quoting myself. Bite me!) I'm resorting to quoting myself... God help me! Go to DayZ -> Properties -> Local Files tab. Verify Integrity of Game Cache is the last button. If that doesn't fix the problem, go to your Documents folder and delete the folders 'DayZ' and 'DayZ Other Profiles'. This will delete any settings and variables that may have become corrupted. You'll lose your graphics settings and have to reset them if you're using anything other than the defaults, but all other info will be reconstructed from the hive when you reconnect. Fiktion 2 Posted January 23, 2014 Found the problem but still working on a permanent solution. After many cache verifies and a full re-install it turned out to be a firewall issue. Although the game was "Allowed" and worked fine before this time around even while being allowed and added to the exclusion list I need to fully disable my firewall in order to connect to Dayz and avoid a full freeze. I am using Eset Smart Security. When firewall is disabled the game works fine.
