Gun Cleaning Kit Bug?

so after the patch i was walking around i found a gun cleaning kit. i thought, hey this is new ill try it on my .45 handgun to see what happens. so i cleaned it and then i noticed that my gun said worn which is new to and i didnt notice before. then i tried it a couple more times to see if i could make the gun pristine and it didn't work. later i found a .357 mag which was pristine and i thought i'd try the kit again. so i i went to clean my gun and after without ever firing the gun that after cleaning my .357 was worn and i couldn't get it back. i've never played the mod so im wondering if this is how it was in the mod? or is this a new bug? thanks.

so, i didn't quite understand that. you're saying that your gun-cleaning kit was causing your gun wear?

also, I don't think they implemented the item damage system yet - even with the patch.

Weapon cleaning kits weren't in the mod. But same here, my friend and I both tried cleaning our guns with a weapon cleaning kit (damaged) with no avail. So maybe the kit's condition may effect it or it may be bugged.

Yes they did check your weapons, i didn't catch it at first either. and also yes im saying the weapon cleaning kit cause weapon wear when i used it on a pristine, never fried .357 it went to worn. wondering if this is a bug.

my weapon cleaning kit is also pristine. so i used a pristine cleaning kit on a pristine gun and the gun came out worn.

Known bug at this point :(  I just did it to my FNX45 and M4...now they are both worn.  Double-hurt because there is a bug with not being able to remove handguards already attached unless swapping with an unattached handguard.  Now my pristine MP handguard is stick to a worn m4 :(

(Kinda) Simple:

 

It appears that a gun cleaning kit is (currently) coded to SET a weapon status to worn. Maybe it was intended to go as high as that anyway, which is why it's worn even when used on pristine ones. Or it's intended and using that kit doesn't make your gun pristine anymore?

 

In short: Don't use the kits right now if your weapons are "worn" or better. Should be no issue, really. Worn weapons should function just as well.
