Just lost 2 nvg's/rangefinder

Recommended Posts

After killing two server hoppers inside the barracks, put my M14 on one of the guys, took his M4 SD, put his friends M4 SD in my pack, already had NVG's so I put the two in my pack and a single rangefinder in my pack (other one I equipped).

I go across the field to log out for the day, was a good 5 minute run, logout.

Login later, my backpack has reverted to the old inventory I was carrying in it. Lost all the items I had in there.

Good times are good though, the excitement of killing the players was worth it.

I don't even try for exotic equipment anymore. I just head straight for the military tents or barracks and kill people there. You'll find a gun on the way and if you are patient you always get 2 or 3 kills before dying.

I already know how to grab good gear, already have a few sets of surplus NVG's from playerkilling people at night time at the NWA, just lost 3 DMR's some M4 / m203 with Holo etc due to bugs lately.

Was heading into the barracks to try and get some ammo back, it's rare for a player to have the ammo you want.

I was just sharing my experience of killing two idiots server hopping.

They lost a lot of high class gear due to that.

I kill server hoppers. Go to the barracks, hide in one of the rooms, wait patiently while watching TV or something, turn up volume and listen for footsteps, aim at door, prepare to loot a fresh corpse and Alice pack.

While it does take some wait time... it doesn't take much. I don't recommend the last room or the bathroom. Pick one of the middle rooms.

That tactic would have got me killed D:

The two guys spawned in the last room and the room next to the bathroom.

A good idea is getting on the firestation or inside the warhouse, a nice DMR can see inside the barracks nicely.

This is better to do on night time servers.

Oh hehe. It works for me so far. You can hear them going systematically from room to room. I set my AK (or whatever I find in the barracks) to full auto and use exactly 1 full clip per encounter.

Sometimes I'm bleeding a touch but I just bandage and wait for the next. Sometimes the server hoppers are polite and bring you cooked meat.

Seems like an awesome way to grief people abusing the server hop system.

I check all the windows to make sure nobody is hiding in any of the rooms. Once I see you sitting there camping id go in and throw a frag grenade into the room then loot all your stuff.

SOmetimes they dont die tho so double tap to the back of the head as they lay there broken and bleeding finishes the job.

So wait, hoppers hop straight into barracks? Don't you need to approach building from distance for it to spawn loot?

I have logged in in barns and houses countless times and they were always empty so whats the point jumping straight into barracks if they might be empty?

As newbie I can answer your question already what I've noticed from my own experience while learning game's mechanics (I play 3rd day in ArmA2 ever). When you login in a place where loot is supposed to be but noone was there already - loot will not spawn. If someone was there (but isn't now) and took few things loot stays. So you can server hop and take what is left (good way to take AKM and lots of ammo for this since noone wants AKM while they're at barracks).

Another way you can abuse DC serverhop mechanics is that you spawn in untouched barracks, go out for a distance, quit to lobby, join again, run to the barracks and furthar along it's side to spawn loot, quit to lobby and rejoin to despawn zombies, go inside and take a loot.

Serverhopping is quite dickhead move but same is camping those places all day since they're only place with NV items. (greeting for all retarded snipers camping whole day at NWA and for clan members who just kick you out of their servers anyone who join so they can loot in peace)
