Can a flare be seen inside a closed building?

If at night, I light a flare inside say a control tower or house and I close all the doors, will the flare still be seen?

Don't throw flares or smoke grenades in buildings right now. I've done it a few times and every time the entire structure comes down around me and I get clipped into the rubble. Sometimes I can get out by vaulting, sometimes I have to respawn. Sucks either way. It's a weird bug. I wouldn't risk it.
