dayz sever help first time playing game

hi i bought arma 2 and arma arrowhead and then i installed the dayz mod when to play and could not find any severs that worked and when i could it would come up with day z you cannot play/edit this mission it is dependent on downloadable content that has been deleted dayz_anim, dayz_code, dayz_communityassets, dayz_weapons, dayz_equip, dayz_epoch, dayz_vehicles i have try reinstalling it but i still cant get it to work plz help me

Aren't you trying to join a server that's meant for a non-vanilla instance of the game? For example servers that run on the Epoch mod while you don't have those game-files? Try joining a vanilla server.

edit; haven't played the mod myself for ages now so can't be sure if I'm even talking sense here, just trying to help.

 

Also I'd like to point out this forum has an entire subforum dedicated to the mod (this is the Standalone section): http://forums.dayzgame.com/index.php?/forum/6-dayz-mod/ . Maybe you'll find more help there.
