Can't get DayZ mod working. I've detailed everything that I can think of

Recommended Posts

Hey,

(First, I will say I've tried both using a launcher, and running through steam - I get different error messages for both ways)

I've followed like, every step on every youtube video - and I still get the same error message when using the launcher.

"You cannot play/edit this message this mission; it is dependable on downloadable content that has been deleted.chernarus"

I heard a way to fix the chernarus thing, was the set my default world to Chernarus - which I have. (in the launcher)

I've got all the files in the correct places (I'm sure) -

and I have the latest DayZ files (downloaded yesterday again) - and I updated the beta again.

I also tried reinstalling the battlecheat on both games (however, for ArmA2 it says that it's currently unavailable - I don't know what is up with that - but I did run the battlecheat thing before I loaded the games) - which that reminded me, I also ran both the games individually before putting the mod on.

And I think I have the directories set correct (through the launcher) - I first tried it with the v4 launcher, but it didn't make sense to me. So I downloaded v1.4 to make things easier - My friend using this launcher has no problem. All the expansions come up on the left hand corner, so I know I've got some directories right.

My parameter is

"-mod=C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\arma 2 operation arrowhead;Expansion;ca;Expansion\beta;Expansion\beta\Expansion;@dayz" -nosplash -world=Chernarus

Then, for my executable locations I have

ArmA2: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\arma 2 operation arrowhead\ArmA2OA.exe

ArmA2-OA

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\arma 2 operation arrowhead\ArmA2OA.exe

Underneath these parameters, it asks for my beta locations... I don't know what the beta is for ArmA2, so I left that blank, and put in

"C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\arma 2 operation arrowhead\Expansion\beta\arma2oa.exe" for my ArmA2 - OA beta.

In the launcher, I also have "run beta" ticked, and, under the "Game Version" option, I have "ArmA2 - CO" set. I tick "Play Online" also.

__

I have also tried running it through steam, setting my properties of ArmA2-OA to -mod=@dayz

I have tried running ArmA2-OA as combined, and also singularly - and nada.

When I try to join a server, I get "bad internet connection - host reject" - or something along those lines - even if my ping is 50 and my internet is fine. So, I sort of gave up with trying to get it to work through steam.

____

If you have any idea what could be wrong, please message me!

If it'd be easier, I can give you my Skype (private message me - I don't want any shit about me being female k) - so I can share screen and show you what I've done.

I bought ArmA2 like a week ago, and I still have yet to play DayZ! I am fanging to get on there!

What error do you get when using Six Launcher, also check the "Beta" box in the options (text link in lower left corner) in Six Launcher

And make sure you have installed the latest beta patch for Arma 2. (something it seems like you have done)

I do not even need to have Steam running while playing, nor fill any path information

Six launcher came up with the "You cannot play/edit this message this mission; it is dependable on downloadable content that has been deleted.chernarus" error

However, 5 minutes after posting this, this fixed my problem -

I don't run it through the launcher, just with some cmd file - 'tis awesome!

So idk if I should delete this thread, or leave it for other people who have the same problem.
