A really dumb question, but im stumped

Excuse me being a noob but how does one start a fire so that I can clean water and cook food? Or have these features been left out.

There are collectable cooking stones, firewood, matches, gas canisters, cooking stoves and cooking pots. None can be used as yet.

I know what you are saying, I was desperate to cook me some rice !
