Was in Elektro, looking for a fight, since that is the only thing you can really do after getting your stuff.

Heard a bunch of gunshots so I was happy

I was inside a building, 1 door closed right infront of me, lying down. Heard a few m4 shots then died.  Yet there was only one entrance and no one inside.

If I had at least gone in on some action I would have been half satisfied, I expected to die, but now I died and did nothing.

Maybe they opened the door but shot through the windows? Or maybe deleted some .pbo files...

Door was closed, windows were high and I was lying down. The shooting noise came from below me.

It could be that bug, that instantly shows you the "You're dead" message. In this case it would be a huuge coincidence, but it's a possibility. 

Other than that, if they deleted .pbo files and shot through walls, this is going to be fixed in a patch january 24, so don't worry  :thumbsup:

I still think that they had a good angle at the windows, though...

I think me and a friend got killed yesterday by a ''pbo hacker'', so wouldn't be surprised if it's the same case here.

Really annoying and fustrating. Spent 2 days and many hours getting all my gear, scavenged at night, and went to elektro and die like this....

There are no hackers in DayZ.  There are script kiddies, cheaters, and file editors.  The person who killed you probably edited his game files to be able to see and shoot through objects.

Got to love the cheaters in DayZ lol My group was harassed by hackers or whatever not once but twice yesterday.

 

First a buddy of mine and myself were in the top floor of a 3 story building while my brother was on the 2nd floor. Two guys teleported into the 3rd floor room firing (literally were firing as they appeared), they instantly got my friend who was laying down so as not to get sniped from outside, I managed to take one of them down as I got killed. My brother came up to do battle with the 2nd guy but he teleported outside and started lighting up the windows (the entire time this guy was smack-talking so we knew it was the same guy) so my brother just logged lol

 

The second time, we were regrouping in the same building on a different server since my brother had logged out there, I was the last one to arrive so I was looting stuff that they had left on the ground on the 3rd floor (brother on 2nd floor, friend on 3rd with me). Then two players approach the building (outside) and start describing what we are wearing and saying they know we're in there and whatnot (we aren't by windows so go figure how they knew). The main guy that was talking sounded like he was about 10 years old and kept going on and on about how scared he was to come up but he knew there was people in the building. Next thing we know, we're all teleported outside of the building. My brother and friend are on the roof of another building with these two guys pointing guns at them from inside the building and I'm in a forest way up by the north east airfield nowhere near where we were. The hackers that teleported us were too slow to fire though and both of my comrades managed to logout right as they realized where they were and started hearing gunshots from inside the building, neither were even hit lol

 

I don't mind if trolls or whatever have the balls to camp our location, smacktalk, or try to overwhelm us with numbers or firepower. However, it's pretty lame if you have to resort to cheats to kill someone and fail even at that.

Exactly the same thing happened to me and my 2 friends at balota. We ran into the ATC tower, lagged out a bit, heard gunfire and started getting shot through the wall. The building was empty and we were able t disconnect before we died. Obviously the guy was a noob at the game, because he couldn't shoot for crap.

At least 24 jan there will be file check so everyone who deleted .pbo files needs to re-download the game before that, or they'll have to buy another copy  :)

I know the feeling i was in balota in ATC Tower Near the window on the stairs, the door behind me was closed, my friend was behind me looking at the door as well, then suddenly i hear gunshot from behind, and i died, there was only 4 people on the server... :P (my friend had m4 and i heard Mosin gunshot) ...

It will be a while before I actually start playing the game again, this is much more fun and rewarding.
